Context for Practice: Revised Pressure Injury Staging System
    执业环境:压力性损伤分级系统修订版
Given its importance to WOC practice, it is not surprising that our understanding of the relationship between pressure and shearing forces and the integrity of the skin remains a source of ongoing scrutiny and frequent controversy. Our struggle to understand the causes of the skin damage and associated ulcers produced by immobility can be traced back all the way to the third to fourth century BCE.

Our understanding of pressure injury etiology and development has grown in recent years through research, clinical expertise, and global interdisciplinary expert collaboration. Therefore, the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP) has revised the definition and stages of pressure injury. The revision was undertaken to incorporate the current understanding of the etiology of pressure injuries, as well as to clarify the anatomical features present or absent in each stage of injury.
A Comprehensive Review of Topical Odor-Controlling Treatment Options for Chronic Wounds
    慢性创口局部气味控制治疗法综合复习
The process of wound healing is often accompanied by bacterial infection or critical colonization, resulting in protracted inflammation, delayed reepithelization, and production of pungent odors. The malodor produced by these wounds may lower health-related quality of life and produce psychological discomfort and social isolation.
Use of 4MAT Learning Theory to Promote Better Skin Care During Radiation Therapy: An Evidence-Based Quality Improvement Project
    用4MAT学习理论促进改善放疗期间的皮肤保健:循证基质量改善方案
Radiation therapy is a key treatment modality for cancer patients, but it is associated with adverse side effects such as radiation dermatitis. To mitigate the adverse effects of radiation on the skin, patients must participate in skin-related self-care. However, even with self-care instruction, adherence can be poor. This quality improvement project used best available evidence for skin care in patients undergoing radiation therapy and a theoretical framework, 4MATing, to provide a structured approach to patient education designed to enhance adherence to skin care recommendations. Implementation of this approach resulted in increased adherence to a topical skin care protocol in our facility. Patients were highly satisfied with their education. While there was a 4-day delay in the onset of radiation dermatitis, this difference was not statistically significant.

Development and Validation of the Role Profile of the Nurse Continence Specialist: A Project of the International Continence Society
    护士节制专家角色特征的制订与验证:国际节制协会方案
Although nurses have specialized in the management of incontinence, bladder, bowel, and pelvic floor dysfunction for more than 30 years, there is a lack of awareness and underutilization of their role. This article describes a 6-year project to define, characterize, and validate a role profile of the Nurse Continence Specialist. Data collection used a 2-phase, mixed-methods design. Phase 1 of the project resulted in a draft Nurse Continence Specialist role profile and Phase 2 led to validation of the draft profile. The result was a broad consensus about what constitutes the specific skill set for Nurse Continence Specialist specialization within nursing.
