Skin disorders are far from a disorder of the skin. Many systemic conditions may be accompanied by dermatologic manifestations. The psychological stress of illness or various personal and family problems is commonly exhibited outwardly as dermatologic problems. Ins some systemic conditions, such as hepatitis and some cancers, dermatologic manifestations may be the first sign of the disorder. All this is because the skin is the largest sensory organ of the body and acts as the first line of defense against invasion by foreigners.
Tips on review of skin disorders will be divided into five parts:
1. Anatomic and physiologic overview
2. Assessment of skin conditions
3. Skin and wound care for a client with skin conditions in general
4. Common skin disorders, and
5. Integumentary Medications
